So, you're wondering what a Villa is? There's plenty of different types of accommodation and one of the most sought for is Villa accommodation rentals in Mauritius.

There's a variety of different Villa Types when you're booking for your special Mauritius Vacation.

Luxury Villas such as the ones located on Anahita Golf Resort located on Flacq is a prime example of enjoying a luxurious stay at a premiere resort, Luxury Villas usually contain full amenities and surrounded by extravagance scenery. Air conditioning, sumptuous furnishings, flat screen TV's, WIFI and broadband with private pools, helicopter and private car transfer to and from the airport are all available features when it comes to selecting the ultimate luxury villa.

Private Luxury Villas are villas that are owned by private owners offering their property for Holiday Rentals and short terms stays, usually equipped with full amenities and services, private luxury villas often provide added privacy, security and it's own private entrance and sometimes even it's own private beach!

Self catering Private Villa are also owned by Private owners, the difference here is that the added services such as 'maid service', pick up and drop off services, or a private cook and butler may not be available as an option included in a Self catering holiday rental. Self Catering Villas usually mean that all the facilities are available for you to enjoy such as: Swimming Pool, Air Conditioning, TV's / Entertainment system, Kitchen, WIFI or Broadband, however there may not be a number for room service or housekeeping requests! Self Catering Villas are ideal for families and or large groups that want a quiet and natural stay, almost like a home away from home!

Budget Villa Accommodation are villas made for the budget conscious, usually fit for two or three travellers, budget villas contain most features such as: Air conditioning, en-suite facilities and housekeeping however it may not contain a private pool but often a shared pool and cater for facilities that accommodate the budget traveller.

Beachside Villas the name says it all, beachside villas are usually villas situated right across the beach of if you're lucky on the beach - just the way we like it ?

Seaside Villas, a little different than a beachside villa, seaside usually means villa properties that are situated near the beach, and have an array of breathtaking views facing the ocean!


Luxury Apartments, Self Catering Apartment, Serviced Apartments and Budget Apartments

Self Catering Apartments in Mauritius usually consists of more than 2 bedrooms and equipped with En-suite and a 2nd bathroom, Self Catering Apartment style properties in Mauritius are often similar to a Self catering villa, however the only difference is it's not a stand alone property, but rather situated in a complex - giving you security as well as friendly neighbours and a place to meet other travellers. Self catering apartments come with full amenities and is ideal for family of 4 or 5 or a group of travellers. The term Self catering usually implies that you are able to cater yourself, meaning more often then usual you have access to a full equipped kitchen.
It's best to check if there is daily housekeeping or laundry facilities also available before booking.

Luxury Apartments Mauritius: Similar to a Luxury Villa, the only difference is luxury apartments are often considered as stunning and spacious apartment units located on high floors. There's a variety of luxury apartment units, some with more than one bedroom, others are duplex style apartments (2 storey), and my most favourite Penthouse style apartments. Luxury apartments feature all amenities, they may have their own private pool if it's a penthouse, or a jucuzzi / hot tub, all catering for that special romantic stay. Popular amongst couples and those spending their Mauritius honeymoon, luxury apartments are furnished with modern or antique furnishings.

Serviced Apartments: Mauritius Services apartments are usually apartments that are serviced daily by a house keeper, they can be private properties or private single units, which has it's own maid and are idea for those on a short stay, Serviced apartments range from 2 - 4 bedrooms usually and offer a variety of services, like change of linen and towels, housekeeping, laundry and ironing, broad band, wifi or Cable TV. Serviced apartments may not have a the luxuries of a private pool, but a shared pool in a beautiful complex, as well as en-suite facilities for you to enjoy.

Budget Apartment Rentals in Mauritius
For the budget conscious traveller, budget apartment ranges from studio style open plan living to 1 bedroom units, accommodating for the most basic necessities, comfortable sleeping, TV, coffee or tea facilities, and ensuite.
