EID-UL-FITR

Feast day Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. The Muslim community of Mauritius celebrates with prayers at mosques across the island. They also share food and sweets with family members, neighbours and friends, as well as the underprivileged. Eid-ul-Fitr falls in the ninth month of the Islamic year, which falls in a different month of the Western calendar each year. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset and devote their time to the adoration of Allah.
