Tamarin Falls & Chamarel Coloured EarthPeople on holiday vacation looking to explore the realms outside their comfortable accommodations on Mauritius Island have more than few options, two of them standing out in particular. As beautiful as the many sights and attractions are on Mauritius Island, perhaps two of the most aesthetically pleasing are The Tamarin Falls and the Chamarel Coloured Earth. Located just southwest of the island, vacationers and locals alike on the island can embark on a scenic, albeit awkward, trek to The Tamarin Falls to bask in the tremendous power of the island's preserved national park. Consisting of a series of seven falls, this magnificent sight of cascading water is an overflow of Rivi?re Tamarin. Should hikers feel like getting a massage, they may stand under the cascades and then take pleasure in a relaxing bathe at the bottom of the seven falls. Comfortable as it may be to take a bath inside your own villa or guest house , nothing beats a nice bit of time in the water at The Tamarin Falls. The Chamarel Coloured Earth is undoubtedly one of nature's quirky contributions to its greatest masterpiece. Constant weathering of basalt rock formation of secondary iron oxides and hydroxides has left the exposed earth of these dunes to feature such a stunning array of different colours, as if it were merely the palette of a painter. The aptly named Chamarel Coloured Earth has become a major tourist attraction on Mauritius Island due to how visually stunning it is to see with your own eyes the hues of red, purple, blue, brown, yellow and green. So while you are planning your Mauritius holiday , do not forget to put down in your itinerary plans to visit these two amazing sites to witness the proof that Mother Nature is still the greatest artist of all. |

DiscoverMauritiusIsland.com: When I was a kid we use to be able to run over the hills of the coloured earths! That was great fun! Unfortunately it isn't possible anymore, but it's still nice to visit! :)
